G3 Offers Security Logger
The G3 now provides programmers with an enhanced security facility. Multiple level password protection, coupled with an activity logger, not only allows customers to control who accesses the panel, it also allows them to review who made what changes and when.
Rather than an action-based scheme, the G3’s security system is object-based, allowing security to be added more quickly, and with less programming errors. Once pages or tags have specific rights assigned, any attempt to access or modify them requires the appropriate logon. Programmers no longer need to worry that all references to a tag or page were programmed for secure access!
The G3 may also be configured to record operator logon information, as well as system activity, directly to a CSV file for later viewing. This stored information provides data as to who modified a particular process and how, thus enhancing traceability and problem solving.
