Crimson 2.0 enhances Web Server control
Red Lion Controls’ free Crimson 2.0 programming software improves remote system control with G3 HMIs, Modular Controller and Data Station Plus embedded Web Servers. The new data control feature provides full read and write access to tags exposed on custom web pages, thus simplifying data entry and accelerating the remote control process. You can now view and control your HMI, PLC or any connected device on pages customized specifically for low-bandwidth connections.
The server has always provided users with remote access and control using the “virtual HMI” facility, but this wasn’t necessarily the best choice for low-bandwidth connections. By adding editing capabilities to custom and user-created pages, customers can create screens optimized for faster loading. Remote access via PDA or mobile phone has also been improved, as screens optimized for low resolution can be created specifically for these smaller displays.
Remote access security has also been improved. Users can now use the Security Manager to create a hierarchy of rights, thereby limiting remote control to specific personnel.
