Ethernet connectivity and data management for Siemens S5 PLCs
Crimson 2.0 now supports the Siemens S5 communication protocol, offering a large array of features to upgrade legacy equipment. Advanced data collection, Ethernet connectivity and remote management are all now possible without the cost and downtime of replacing the existing PLC.
The S5 protocol provides easy access to the Siemens PLC tags within Crimson 2.0, allowing direct communications with Red Lion Controls G3 HMI, Modular Controller and Data Station Plus Series.
With the powerful protocol conversion facility embedded in all the above products, combined with the standard offering of three serial ports and a multiple-protocol Ethernet port, users can now realize complete system integration and data transfer.
Current S5 applications can be quickly upgraded to communicate with production management, preventive maintenance and quality control.
