Red Lion’s free Crimson® 2.0 programming software now includes troubleshooting tools for the G3 HMIs, Modular Controller and Data Station Plus Series. The new online data viewers allow the programmer to monitor the tags and gateway blocks in real-time using any of the programming ports. Users can select the tags or the gateway block to monitor and connect to the device using the USB, Ethernet or Serial programming ports.

This tool is especially useful for the Data Station Plus LE and Modular Controller Master LE models, which do not offer the Virtual HMI facility. Using the online data viewer, developers can easily access and monitor any data available in the products. The capability to monitor gateway blocks helps troubleshooting protocol conversion applications by identifying the data transferred from one device to another.
