Setting Up Email and Text Notifications

A new video presentation is now available demonstrating how easy it is to use Crimson 3.0 software to enable and configure the automatic email and text messaging capabilities built into our G3 HMIs, the Modular Controller, and the Data Station Plus. This important feature allows vital monitoring of systems and equipment used at remote or unmanned locations.

In the example used in the video, a Data Station Plus equipped with a cellular modem card is configured to monitor a tank level at a remote location. If the tank level reaches 85% or more of capacity, an alarm is triggered causing the Data Station to send an email, a text message, or both to a list of recipients. This feature not only allows personnel to find out about impending problems, it can also be used to notify of scheduled routine maintenance procedures, or to retrieve status log updates, or to send log file attachments.
